For curious kids aged 8–12

Real news.
Comic-sized.

Every weekday, Scoopio turns the day's real stories from Hong Kong and around the world into short, funny comics. Each one is checked by a real person before kids read it.

How Scoopio works

A small, finished daily issue, not an endless feed. Kids read, learn something new, and they're done for the day.

1

A fresh issue every weekday

3 to 5 comic stories land at 7am Hong Kong time: science, nature, space, sport and news from near and far. Each takes about 3 minutes.

2

Two reading levels

The same story, in words for ages 8–9 or 10–12. Tricky words come with a simple meaning, so stories stretch their English without losing them.

3

Sunday Big News

One big story of the week, free for every family. Kids collect the places they read about on their own world map.

Meet the hosts

Three friends tell every story, and each one asks a question good readers ask.

The Curious Reporter
“What's true?”

Curio shows how we know each fact, and who checked it.

The Heart of the Team
“Who does it affect?”

Aisha helps kids think about the people and animals in the story.

The Builder & Explorer
“How does it work?”

Benji explains the how and the where, and pins it on the map.

For grown-ups

Our promise to parents

  • ✅ Checked by people

AI helps us draft stories and draw the comics. A human editor checks every fact, picture and word before anything is published, and we name our sources.

  • 🚫 No ads. No tracking.

No advertising, no third-party trackers, and we never sell data. Children's reading is never used to train AI.

  • 🍦 A finished issue

No endless scrolling or attention traps. Each day's issue has an end, and “done for today” is a real thing.

  • 🔒 Tiny data, kept safe

A child profile is just a nickname, a reading level and an avatar. No real names, photos or locations. You can download or delete it all from the app.

  • 👪 Grown-ups in charge

Parents sign in with Apple or Google. Buying, settings and links out of the app sit behind a grown-up check.

  • 😊 Gentle encouragement

Reading streaks and badges cheer kids on, and weekends never break a streak. Never “you'll lose it”, and no nagging notifications.

Questions & help

Is the news real?

Yes. Every story is based on real reporting from trusted sources. We retell it simply for kids, and each comic has a “How do we know?” note. A person checks every story before it's published.

Which devices does Scoopio work on?

Scoopio is made for iPad (iPadOS 17 or later) and launches in 2027. Other tablets may come later.

Does my child need an account?

No. A parent signs in once, then adds a profile for each child with a nickname and a 4-digit PIN. Children never sign up or give an email address.

How do I delete our family's data?

In the app, open Parent Corner and choose “Delete account and all data”. Everything is deleted from our servers. You can also download a copy of your family's data there first. See our privacy policy.

How do I cancel Scoopio Plus?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.

Still curious? Write to us at info@scoopio.app. A real person will reply, usually within 2 working days.
